7/23/08 Surf today is victory at sea huge and choppy the buoys are 21 ft at 10sec surf should improve after storm moves more inland for the next few days. Water temp is 85 and the tides are Low 12:05am 0.28ft High 7:13am 1.13ft Low 1:45pm 0.46ft High 7:45pm 0.93ft

Tuesday 7/22/08 10:00AM- Surf was knee high or smaller until about an hour ago when a few odd thigh high waves began rolling in and winds were already NNE at 15-20mph from the overhand sweep of the storm. The bouy off Baffin may starting to show signs of life, it has been at only 2ft until 9am when it hit 3ft... just now at 10am the reading was 3 1/2 feet, so we might see some waist high and growing swell in the next couple hours. The NNE winds will likely blow pretty hard this evening and the surf should get alot bigger but wind conditions will be a problem, shelter by the jetties will most likely be the call ie.: Port.A, Fish Pass and S.Packery. Water temp at 85 degrees Tides were High 7:10am 1.22ft Low 1:34pm 0.73ft High 5:50pm 0.90ft

Mon.7/21/08.10:00AM - Just like yesterday, the surf is still knee high but clean and lined up this morning with very light SE winds 5-10mph. Wind supposed to pick up mid day ESE 10-15 gust 20mph. Water temp 84 degrees and tides are High 7:06am 1.33ft Low 1:56pm 0.94ft High 3:52pm 0.96ft Low 11:27pm -0.02ft +++Onshore NE winds will start to pick up and surf will definitely build thru the day tomorrow ahead of Tropical Storm Dolly which could possibly become a hurricane between now and wednesday, so be prepared for anything... the current forecast track has it pointing straight for S.Padre but we know how accurate forecast tracks are until the last minute so keep a close eye and stay tuned for tropical updates in case of a hurricane coming OUR way in the next 24-48hrs.

Sun.7/20/08.9:00AM- Surf is knee high or less still with light SE winds this morning at 5-10mph but will probably pick up to SE 10-15mph gust 20 midday. Water temp at 84 degrees and tides are High 7:03am 1.44ft Low 10:53pm -0.25ft +++ Tropical Disturbance 24 has been upgraded this morning to Tropical Storm Dolly. We'll have to watch and see after it crosses the Yucatan into the Gulf or Bay of Campeche wether it remains a tropical storm or intensifies, either way we could start to see associated swell/windswell from tuesday onward. Right now it's still possibly tracking our direction but looks more likely to go south into mexico.+++

Mon.6/30/08.10:00AM- Last day of June, Very decent longboard conditions this morning, surf was thigh high with some nice little rights breaking in green water and light SE winds at 5-10mph. Don't know if it will hold thru the rest of the day as the seas are dropping and onshore winds are'nt forecasted to blow again soon. The wind was back out of the east around 10-15mph and there really was'nt any current. Mon. 4/7/08 10:00AM- Good longboarding, small but real fun conditions this morning. Waves were waist high on sets and breaking fairly clean on the inside bar, SE winds were less than 10mph... tides pretty high and water temp at 73 degrees. Tide is falling all day, rapidly after 4pm and when the wind picks up(which it's supposed to do later)it will kill the good conditions, so get on it sooner than later.

Water temp is up to 70 degrees! and the tides at B.Hall pier today are Low: 5:24am -0.42ft and High: 3:20pm 1.73ft +++Forecast calls for more wind and surf getting bigger the next couple days, seas may be 10ft+ with west winds on tuesday afternoon! ...we shall see ;)

Sat.3/15/08.9:00AM- Looked very small from the beach with light west winds this morning but there was fun waist with chest high sets breaking on south side of B Hall pier, bigger than it looked with super clean conditions and still good as of this report time- it should hold up thru the day but the winds are'nt gonna stay offshore all day, they are supposed to go North by the afternoon. Great conditions for spring break... super sunny out and the air temp supposed to hit 90 degrees today and water temp was already at 68 degreees this morning!!! Tides are Low 4:01am -0.49ft High 2:37pm 1.83ft Winds will be back to hard onshore again tomorrow and forecast is for building surf the next couple of days and another chance for west winds Tuesday with seas 8-10feet, ....we'll see ;)

Drift the open beach or hang on the S side of the jetty. Mon.3/10/08.10:00AM- Chest high surf and the wind conditions have calmed down this morning, around SE 5-10mph, so it's alot less current and less choppy from yesterday. The surf could get fun today since the winds will be lighter, a chance of thundershowers all day and a wind switch to NNE this afternoon but not very hard.... we'll have to wait and see if we get a good update later we'll try to post again then. Sat.3/8/09.9:00AM- Surf is FLAT. A beautiful day outside though, great skating, fishing or just plain ol'hanging out at the beach weather today. This is the first weekend of spring break for most of Texas, beach will probably get packed so get ready for some uber-nippage and major shrinkitis as the water temp has plumited to 59 degrees... YIKES! Surf is'nt likely to start to come up until possibly tomorrow afternoon with increasing SE winds.
